On November 28th, OARS will kick off a one-week fundraising campaign on the Day of Giving. 

In 2022, we raised $3500, in 2021, we raised over $15,000.  

We believe that our community is strong and we have the ability to hit that $15,000 amount again.  

Our mission at OARS is to develop our athletes to be the #1 program in the south. Our equipment and facilities need to support these athletes as we grow every year. Helping provide quality, safe equipment is a yearly struggle as we balance affordability and high standards. Fees & dues cover our basic operating costs. Funds are supplemented by donations from our rowing families, friends, & community. 

Our community of rowers and their families continues to make us proud on a daily basis. When help is needed, our OARS family isn’t ever afraid to roll up our sleeves, work hard, and contribute to the needs of our team.  We are so proud of the collective efforts of our community.  Like many, we’ve been hit with everything costing more, especially when we head to regattas. We are still committed to moving forward to make OARS the best team possible.

One of the ways we have done this is by continuing our fleet plan with our boat manufacturer, Vespoli. We are making a concentrated effort to grow our fleet of rowing shells for the team. Our rowers need to be rowing in equipment that isn’t older than they are. This year, we traded in a few older boats and received three eights and one four. Giving rowers more options to participate in a variety of rowing categories.

This is a huge giving moment for OARS and we need your help. This annual campaign is important and has a great impact on our program. From $5 to $5,000 every donation goes directly to OARS and will be used to update equipment for our rowers.
